Trek Mountain Bikes Offer the Excellent Quality Trek is Known For
Trek mountain bikes were introduced to the Trek family of bikes in 1983. Trek was founded in Waterloo, Wisconsin in 1976 and is now sold globally. It is Trek bikes that have carried Lance Armstrong over the finish line in each of his record six Tour de France wins.
With such a history, it's no surprise that Trek mountain bikes are excellent bikes. Trek mountain bikes are available in three basic styles, full suspension, hardtail and bruiser.
The full suspension line of Trek offer both front and rear suspension so that the rider has better stability and control on rough terrain. Within this line of Trek mountain bikes there are three bike sub-lines available, Fuel, Liquid and Session.
There are nine Fuel Trek bikes. They offer the Fuel RockerlinkTM linkage system and PowerPointTM rear triangle. These features offer the rider more power per pedal and tight handling on corners. Liquid Trek bikes provide three different bikes with more standover ability and wheel clearance. Liquid Trek mountain bikes also have a rear pivot, reinforced RockerLinkTM and sealed cartridge bearings. Finally, there are two bikes in the Session line for those interested in free riding.
The hardtail line of Trek mountain bikes offers a faster, lighter off-road bike ideal for climbing. Within this line you can choose from three sub-lines, the OCLV Carbon, ZR9000 or Alpha Aluminum.
The OC in OCLV Carbon Trek mountain bikes stands for optimum compaction. This feature is designed to provide riders with maximum strength while still offering a lightweight bike. LV stands for low void, referring to the lack of weak spots in these tough frames. The Elite 9.8 is the only bike offered in this sub-line. The ZR 9000 mountain bikes - there are two of them - offer an alloy hardened frame with zirconium that is unique to Trek, making them stronger and lighter than most aluminum bikes. Finally, the ten Trek mountain bikes offered in the Alpha Aluminum sub-line are laser mitered with absolute precision for tighter tolerances.
The third line of Trek mountain bikes is the bruiser line, and boy are these bikes designed for playing hard. The Bruiser 1, Bruiser 2 and Bruiser 3 are all designed to take just about anything you can throw at them, no matter what kind of terrain you choose to ride on.
Trek mountain bikes are an excellent choice for your first or next mountain bike.
